Joint Sealing & Elastic Bonding

Joint Sealing
We provide a full range of sealants for joints in buildings and civil engineering structures. Included in the range are general purpose construction sealants and sealing solutions for expansion, movement and connection or isolation joints in facades, flooring (including car parks) and even chemically resistant materials for water and sewage treatment plants, etc. The range also contains products for sealing work in interior finishing and for sanitary uses (i.e. in kitchens and bathrooms) as well as specialist high-performance systems for extreme conditions of movement or temperature change.
Elastic Bonding
Elastic adhesives for wood-floor and multipurpose bonding provides many advantages over rigid bonding. Elastic bonding makes it possible, in one operation, to join and seal or dampen noise. Because stresses are distributed evenly, it is possible to bond wood-floors despite their swelling and shrinkage characteristics. In contrast to mechanical fastening, elastic bonding allows durable fastening of thin materials such as sheet metals or façade claddings to achieve material savings because the elastic bonding layer permits differential thermal movements.
For wood-floor bonding, Sika has developed the AcouBond-System system which combines an impact- noise-reduction mat with the high performance SikaBond adhesives.
